RELEVANCE OF THE TARGET MUSCULATURE

The electronically controlled Q Leg Extension primarily trains the four-headed thigh muscle (quadriceps femoris). Climbing stairs, standing up from a squatting position or shooting football with the instep – the front thigh muscles are used in numerous everyday movements.

It is responsible for extending the legs and stabilises the knee joint – even when standing. Strong legs are therefore not only visually fascinating, but also the prerequisite for personal independence into old age.


DOING THE EXERCISE

Starting position

The user sits with a straight back, knees are bent at at least ninety degrees. The buttocks are in contact with the backrest and the padding on the lever rests on the instep of the foot.

End position

The user extends their legs in a slow and controlled manner against the resistance until they are almost fully extended. The hands hold onto the lateral handles to prevent the body from lifting off the seat

Normal training

The concentric (muscle shortening) and eccentric (muscle lengthening) loads are identical. In other words, training is performed with constant weights in both directions.

Adaptive training

If the muscles become tired, the equipment reduces the resistance; if they become stronger, they are given a higher resistance – completely automatically.

Isokinetic training

The training resistance is increased in the eccentric (muscle lengthening) phase of movement, making training more effective in comparison to training with a constant weight by utilizing the muscles, tendons, and ligaments in an ideal way.
